
G.E.N.T.S. Mentoring Program
Responsibilities of the Mentee/Parent/Mentor
Goals

For the mentee to improve his behavior at school and home.

For the mentee to improve his overall academic performance in school.

For the mentee to be a leader in his community.

For the parent to support the initiatives of G.E.N.T.S. program.

For the mentors to be committed to the overall success of the G.E.N.T.S. program.
The Mentee Will Be Required To:

Attend all sessions of the G.E.N.T.S. program. If the mentee is unable to attend a session, he must notify his mentor before the session. If the mentee misses more than 3 sessions, the mentee will be placed on probationary status until the mentee improves his participation within the program. If the mentee does not improve his performance within the program, then a discussion will take place with the mentee and parent in regards to the mentee continuation of the program.

Involve themselves in a community service project sponsored by ABC & CJCDC. This will take place at (EBC), 119 Camden St., Newark, NJ 07103. Every Sunday from 12:30pm to 2pm. This is a part of the program that will develop the morals and values of each mentee to be an effective leader within the community. If the mentee misses more than 3 services, the mentee will be placed on probationary status until the mentee improves his participation within the program. If the mentee does not improve his performance within the program, then a discussion will take place with the mentee and parent in regards to the mentee continuation of the program.

Respect parent(s)/guardian(s).

Stay focused on academic tasks in school and complete all homework.

Respect all the mentors.

Inform his mentor of any issues or concerns that he may have.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) is/are Recommended To:

Support the initiatives of the G.E.N.T.S. program.

Share high academic and social expectations with their child.

Share information with the mentor that maybe beneficial to the overall success of the mentee.
Mentor Will Be Required To:

Be respectful and committed to helping their mentee on achieving the goals that are apart of the program.

Utilize conflict resolution skills if any issues arise.

If any outstanding situations arise please report those concerns to Pastor J.
